Exercise Physiology

Our Exercise Physiologists are University qualified professionals who specialise in the assessment and delivery of evidence-based exercise and lifestyle behaviour modification programs for your needs and limitations. This can be provided either individually or in a group setting.

Working closely with our physiotherapist, our Exercise Physiologists provide ongoing care for our clients, from chronic health conditions, injury rehabilitation, pre or post-surgery rehabilitation or cancer. A tailored exercise program with the guidance of an exercise physiologist can help to you to recover from a specific injury and improve overall health.

Physiotherapy

Traditional physiotherapy techniques is at the core of what we do. Through initial assessments and ongoing treatment, we develop a plan to address any acute injuries, ongoing rehabilitation and maintenance. We treat a range of conditions including a variety of soft tissue injuries such as muscle, tendon and ligament injuries as well as sports injuries. We treat people ranging from the general public, the elderly, local and elite athletes, children as well as people undergoing rehabilitation from orthopaedic surgery, workplace injuries and motor vehicle accidents.

Physiotherapy utilises a range of treatment techniques to help people recover from injury, return to an active lifestyle and improve quality of life.

Telehealth

Telehealth services delivered online! We use zoom to be able to chat with you, just like we would if you were here in our clinic. Through this platform we are able to assess, prescribe and deliver effective rehabilitation programs, progressing where necessary.

Allied health care should be accessible to all during these times, which is why we offer these services to current and new clients who choose to self-isolate or to those who live in rural and remote Australia.

As part of your Telehealth consultation we will email you detailed exercise videos and descriptions, which can be conveniently accessed on your phone or computer. As with all our consultations, if you are ever unsure about an exercise that has been prescribed or any questions about your injury, please feel free to email your exercise physiologist or physiotherapist directly for confirmation or reassurance at any time.

Specialised Group Classes

Group class 1: HYDROTHERAPY

Hydrotherapy focuses on a range of exercises, from improving your mobility, to retraining your balance, strengthening both your upper and lower limbs while improving your cardiovascular fitness whilst being in the pool!

Our classes are run all year round at Ferny Hills Aquatic Centre in their indoor heated pool, therefore providing a reliable source of activity all year round.

Group class 2: HEALTHY BONES

Healthy bones is an evidence based exercise class developed for individuals looking to optimise their bone health, either through prevention or management of osteopenia or osteoporosis.

Strong men is a male only class designed to improve strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Group class 4: CLASSIC HIIT’s

Classic HIIT’s is circuit-based workout to help build and maintain lean muscle, and increase strength, metabolism and overall fitness levels.

Staying on your feet is a low intensity class to assist in physical function and everyday tasks. Think qualified allied health professional, safe environment, mixed with some fun.
